(Thank you, Richard, for the notes!)

The monthly Gabriel Project meeting was held at the Basilica of San Albino on Thursday, August 7th. The following are points of the discussions:

  • ·         The pro-life promotion table at the 1st Annual Diocesan Eucharistic Congress was a great success. Items available to attendees were printed items from Gabriel Project, TurningPoint, CareNet, Rachel’s Vineyard, Project Defending Life (Albuquerque) as well as pro-life stimulator items such as models of 12 week old babies. The receptivity of participants was good.
  • ·         A brief interaction with Fr. Enrique confirmed that as he works to establish the new parish St. John Paul II at Santa Teresa he is quite interested in promoting pro-life efforts. Particularly in view of the fact that the only abortion clinic within the Diocese in in Santa Teresa.
  • ·         Conversations are still occurring to seek the interest of creating a Gabriel Project apostolate at St. Albert the Great parish which is located on the edge of the NMSU campus. Prayers are appreciated that God’s will be done in this regard.
  • ·         The St. Genevieve Fiesta is August 30th & 31st. A pro-life table will again be manned there to encourage and to promote acceptance and support for Respect for Life. Teens will be solicited and encouraged to help man the table.
  • ·         Discussion about the needs and support we will provide to one of our new moms who now knows she will have a little girl at the end of the year. St. Genevieve will provide a crib for her and the Basilica will provide funds for her to immerse herself in acquiring needed items to care for her baby. Please pray for her that she will accept the graces available from God to view this coming birth with hope, beauty and love as opposed to it being an event which destroys her plans for her life.

Apologies for the lapse in updates. I am back on my feet, and will be attending again regularly 🙂
